About the role
We’re looking for an energetic and organised Volunteer Coordinator to help build, support, and grow our vibrant network of tennis volunteers across the ACT and region.
In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in shaping the future of tennis volunteering by creating strategies that not only attract new volunteers but also keep our existing community engaged and supported.
This is a 2-year part-time contract position (20 hours per week) offering flexibility while allowing you to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the tennis community across the ACT and region.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Develop & Deliver a Volunteering Strategy – In partnership with Volunteering ACT, assess our current volunteer network, identify opportunities, and set clear measures for success.
- Recruit & Retain Volunteers – Create tailored recruitment and retention plans to ensure our tennis community has the volunteer support it needs year-round.
- Build Capability & Capacity – Work with Tennis Australia, ACT Government, clubs, and stakeholders to deliver training, courses, and programs that help volunteers thrive.
- Foster an Inclusive Environment – Promote a welcoming culture that encourages long-term involvement from people of all backgrounds and skill levels.
- Collaborate Widely – Partner with clubs, coaches, schools, universities, parents, and community stakeholders to create positive, rewarding volunteer experiences.
About you
To be successful in this role you will:
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Experience working with volunteers or community groups (sport sector experience highly regarded).
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- A passion for inclusion, community development, and grassroots sport.
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
- Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis ACT
