The Opportunity
The Warehousing and Logistics Lead is responsible for overseeing all warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. This role plays a key part in driving continuous improvement across the function.
The Lead manages a team of warehousing and logistics personnel and is accountable for their performance, output, and alignment with operational goals.
What’s involved
- Lead and support a high-performing warehousing and logistics team
- Ensure a safe, secure, and compliant working environment
- Develop and enforce clear policies, procedures, and documented practices
- Maintain team capability through training, development, and succession planning
- Oversee all warehousing functions including receipt, storage, distribution, and equipment maintenance
- Ensure goods are processed, inspected, and recorded accurately and in a timely manner
- Deliver excellent customer service through timely order fulfilment and clear communication
- Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives while managing operational risks
- Operate a Just – In – Time Warehouse Management System
You’ll need
- 7+ years relevant Supply Chain, Warehousing and logistics experience within a shipbuilding/sustainment, engineering, manufacturing or Defence organisation
- Strong understanding and working experience in a computerised ERP environment
- Strong leader and coach, with excellent communication, interpersonal and people management skills
- Strong customer focus
- Forklift License
