WHS Compliance Coordinator - Join Our Team!
About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated Work Health & Safety (WHS) Compliance Coordinator to join our team on a 12 month max term. Reporting directly to the Senior WHS Manager, you will align with our WHS management system and work closely with the Marine Services and Logistics Site Manager to ensure the daily application of our safety protocols. This includes timely incident reporting, investigations, hazard identification, risk assessment, and various forms of consultation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Time on Water: Spend at least 30% of your time on the water.
- Safety Systems: Implement, administer, and maintain the corporate safety system to ensure site WHS compliance.
- Compliance: Facilitate WHS hazard identification, risk assessments (JSA), risk control, and other safety-related tasks.
- Investigations: Support the onsite team with timely incident and injury reporting and conduct subsequent investigations.
- Injury Management: Ensure Tassal’s Injury Management protocols are supported on site and vessel.
- Stakeholder Support: Assist site leadership groups in achieving a physically and psychologically safe work environment.
- Contractor Management: Assist with effective WHS management of contractors.

About You:
- Cert IV in WHS or greater
- Intermediate computer skills
- Aquaculture experience is desirable but not essential
- Ability to understand competing priorities and find balanced solutions at the site level
- High-level communication skills with a collaborative approach
- Attention to detail with a general understanding of WH&S matters, investigative skills, and an enquiring mind
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain up-to-date management systems for WHS and compliance
- Report hazards and incidents
- Assist with injury management and recovery
- Coordinate the site’s action plan
