Farmgate Backpackers is a working hostel matching backpackers (Working Holiday Visa Holders) with farmwork to qualify for visa extensions. To manage this hostel to the highest standard, we are seeking an applicant with the following attributes:
- Provide strong leadership to hostel staff, including hiring, training, and managing performance to ensure a high level of service and guest satisfaction.
- Take the lead on back-office management including managing reservations.
- Oversee all aspects of hostel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance and administration.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by addressing guest concerns, implementing service improvements, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service.
- Ensure the safety and security of guests and staff by implementing and enforcing hotel policies and procedures.
- Oversee maintenance and repairs of hostel facilities and equipment to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-centric approach.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and ordinances pertaining to accommodation and licensed venue operation.
- Leadership qualities to effectively manage staff and drive operational excellence.
- Proficiency in computer systems and reservation management software.
- Ability to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Minimum 2 years work experience in an accommodation environment.
Qualifications
To be successful you will require the following experience:
- Proven experience in a Hostel Management or a similar role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong customer-centric approach.
- A natural and engaging leader with a demonstrated passion for team development and service excellence.
- Queensland Open Driver's Licence.
