ABOUT THE ROLE
We have an exciting permanent full time opportunity for a Workplace Relations Specialist to join our close-knit team in Blackburn.
Location is flexible to successful applicant either Sydney or Melbourne.
Reporting to the EM Workplace Relations, you'll play a key role in managing complex employee relations matters and supporting best-practice approaches to workplace investigations and issue resolution.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the resolution of complex employee relations matters including misconduct, performance, redundancies, discrimination, and bullying.
- Interpret and apply enterprise agreements, awards, and employment legislation to ensure compliance and fairness.
- Drive enterprise bargaining processes and contribute to the development and renewal of EBAs for national consistency.
- Conduct and oversee workplace investigations, ensuring procedural fairness and adherence to internal and legal standards.
- Coach and empower P&C team members in managing employee relations cases confidently and effectively.
- Design and deliver engaging training sessions on investigations, disciplinary procedures, and respectful workplace behaviours.
- Foster strong, collaborative relationships with leaders, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
- Maintain detailed, accurate records of ER matters and identify opportunities for improving systems and frameworks.
- Partner with the People Solution Centre to triage and manage ER cases, including escalation of complex matters as needed.
ABOUT YOU
You’re a trusted workplace relations professional who brings sound judgement, a calm and considered approach, and a commitment to fair and respectful work environments. You’re confident navigating complex ER matters and investigations, and you thrive on helping others build capability through coaching and training.
Key capabilities:
- Tertiary degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or related field.
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, industrial instruments, and best-practice ER processes.
- Experience working in large, complex or values-driven organisations (NFP, healthcare, government, etc. is desirable).
- Demonstrated experience conducting or managing sensitive and complex workplace investigations.
- The ability to interpret and communicate legislation, policies, and procedures clearly to varied audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build credibility and trust with stakeholders at all levels.
- A collaborative mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.
