The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Manager Maintenance, as the Workshop Superintendent you will be responsible for managing, coordinating, monitoring and controlling the haulage asset maintenance workshop. You will ensure all work-related activities are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest standards for all MRT operations. Your leadership will be crucial in achieving key project targets and building an outstanding team culture.
This is a permanent full-time position on an 8D 6RR roster.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee, coordinate and monitor all maintenance activities for road train haulage assets and ancillary equipment.
- Drive safety-first behaviours, ensuring 100% compliance with HSEQT and MRL Management Frameworks.
- Provide technical support, diagnose complex technical issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage the execution of maintenance work orders, service schedules and asset inspections.
- Lead, develop and mentor the MRT workgroup, including direct employees and contractors.
- Liaise confidently with key stakeholders (Maintenance and Haulage Supervisors, Leading Hands, Schedulers, MC drivers, Workshop staff, Storepersons and others).
- Maintain accurate records, cost control, asset and facilities compliance and contractor management.
- Report on progress, update action registers and participate in key monthly reviews and risk activities.
- Manage all HR aspects, including inductions, performance reviews, issue management and the development of leadership within your team.
A successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience in a similar leadership role.
- Extensive experience in mining, road train haulage or related heavy vehicle environments.
- Technical expertise across road transport, haulage principles and classified plant.
- Strong analytical and resource planning skills with a focus on asset performance targets.
- Demonstrated excellence in contractor management, compliance and financial cost controlling.
- Outstanding communication, organisational and leadership qualities.
- Resilience, agility, a growth mindset and the ability to inspire others to deliver results.

About Onslow
Our Onslow Iron project is set to redefine mining in Western Australia through world-first autonomous road trains, industry leading dust free transport and innovative transhipping.
Taking shape 150 kilometres east of Onslow, the project will ship around 35 million tonnes of iron ore per year and is expected to have a mine life of more than 30 years.
The project encompasses the Ken’s Bore mine (approximately 150km from Onslow), Truck Maintenance Facility and Onslow Port infrastructure.
