About the role

This identified position plays a vital role in administering and supporting cultural planning for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander membership and staff.

In this role, you’ll help to foster College’s commitment to culturally safe, responsive, and accessible psychiatric care by and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. A key focus will be supporting staff in developing and delivering tailored Cultural Support Plans for members who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

You’ll have a deep understanding of culturally safe and respectful engagement, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills. You will also have:

  • Demonstrated experience in public health, health, policy, or a related area.
  • A strong track record of engaging effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, or organisations.
  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or the legal right to work in Australia.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a National Police Check prior to commencing employment.

Some of what’s on offer:

  • A salary range of $65,363 – $81,755 total remuneration package TRP (inclusive of leave loading and 12% superannuation).

  • A paid day off each month for full-time employees.

  • 12 weeks of gender-neutral paid parental leave, available to both primary and secondary caregivers.

  • A values-led, inclusive, and culturally safe workplace where diversity is celebrated.

  • The chance to be part of a passionate team working to improve mental health outcomes.

  • Purpose-driven work that makes a meaningful difference to communities across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
