As an Accounts Team Leader based in our Brisbane CBD Office, you will support and lead our Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable team. This role supports continuous improvement in business performance and contributes effectively to the achievement of CPL’s overall vision and purpose.
What would I be doing?
- Lead, support and supervise Finance Officers, including workload allocation, daily oversight, and performance monitoring to ensure team effectiveness and development
- Manage the end-to-end collections process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and receipting. Strengthen collection processes to reduce the risk of bad debt and improve overall cash flow
- Oversee timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices and payments in line with agreed terms and CPL policies.
- Perform and review complex reconciliations for both supplier and debtor accounts, including monthly balance sheet reconciliations resolving discrepancies and ensuring data integrity
- Drive efficiency and continuous improvement in AP/AR processes through optimal use of the ERP system and automation opportunities
- Lead the development and implementation of centralised invoicing and debtor recovery procedures to support consistent and efficient practice across the organisation
Requirements include:
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a finance team leader or supervisory role within a large, high-volume transactional environment

Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to deliver high levels
of accuracy and quality in financial data management and reporting - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage competing demands
- Demonstrates flexibility and resilience in evolving environments; embraces change and understands that systems and processes may still be developing
- Proactively identifies opportunities to improve financial processes and operational efficiency, contributing to broader organisational improvement.
