About the role
The Finance Officer Accounts Payable plays a vital role in supporting the financial operations of the City of Unley. Reporting to the Team Leader Financial Accounting, this position is responsible for the efficient and accurate delivery of the end-to-end accounts payable function. You will manage day-to-day processing of supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations, while ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures. This role also involves providing high-quality customer service to internal departments and external stakeholders, contributing to the smooth operation of Council’s financial systems.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Relevant qualifications and/or extensive experience relevant to the position.
- Detailed knowledge of AP and accounting office functions.
- Detailed knowledge of the Goods and Services Tax and how it applies to goods and services supplied to Council.
- Understanding of the internal financial controls associated with the AP role.
- Proficiency in using the Microsoft Suite of Applications, 365 and internet technologies.
- Proficiency in the application of acceptable accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve customer enquiries and convey information.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to work within the time constraints of financial cycles.
- Excellent numeracy and accuracy skills.
- Understanding of the internal financial controls associated with the AP role.
- Basic knowledge of FBT legislation and how it applies to goods and services supplied to Council.
