headspace provides mental health support to young people aged 12 – 25, with a range of services available for young people, including experiencing, or at risk of developing psychosis. All of our services are driven by person centred care, with a strong focus on functional recovery, youth specific interventions and support from peers who have experienced the same or similar challenges.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Administration Assistant who will be the first point of contact for clients and their families. You will support a smooth transition through the service and provide administrative support across all teams and providers.
In addition, you will:
- Manage the switchboard including answering and/or re-direct inquiries as appropriate.
- Greeting clients / family / carers for appointments.
- Assist in maintaining client accounts by collecting, recording and updating personal and Medicare information.
- Assist in the management of client appointments.
- Process bulk billing claims to Medicare.
- Provide Administration support to other staff and clinicians. Complete database management and various medical software.
In this, ongoing, full time role, you will be working 5 days per week based between headspace Southport and Upper Coomera.
The gross hourly pay rate is $34.59 per hour to $35.68 per hour plus super, depending on the successful candidate's skills, knowledge and experience.
ABOUT YOU
You are an engaging individual with the ability to connect with clients who are navigating mental health challenges and difficult life experiences. You can work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
Additionally, you will also possess the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in medical reception which includes Medicare billing and batching is essential.
- Knowledge and understanding of the health and welfare issues affecting young people.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all people including young people, their families/carers, the public and staff.
- You can work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
- You are reliable and have excellent time management and prioritisation skills. You’ll self-care – this role can be challenging and it’s important to us that you are at your best, to do your best.
