Base Salary from $83,038 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The Administrative Assistant performs a range of general administrative and clerical duties for the School of Rural Health, ensuring tasks are completed in an efficient and effective manner. They organise and maintain records, act as the initial point of contact within the School of Rural Health and use judgement and procedural knowledge to organise the flow of information. They provide reception, office and facilities support including fleet and room booking logistics. The Administrative Assistant works in collaboration with other members of the administration and facilities team and provides support to the School of Rural Health (SRH) in relation to their portfolio area.
This position will collaborate with other School staff to support and enhance student placements and multidisciplinary learning experiences in rural areas in accordance with the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training (RHMT) Program parameters, Murray Darling Medical Schools Network (MDMSN) Program funding and Sydney Medical Program (SMP). This position ensures compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory controls and ensures a safe working environment for all staff and students in accordance with The University of Sydney policy.
This position is located at Orange.

Travel within Orange is a requirement of this position.
Occasional out of hours work, flexible working and regular manual handling tasks are required of this role.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
deliver general reception, administrative services and operational support to the School of Rural Health (Dubbo/Orange).
provide high level administrative support including diary, travel, accommodation, room bookings and meeting management for the work area.
gather and organise data from a range of sources to update databases, compile reports, charts, graphs, and tables.
liaise with internal teams and external suppliers to address facilities matters.
manage fleet bookings for the site.
administer purchasing, payment, and invoice management.
be an active member of the WHS Committee
assist the orientation and induction for new staff, students, and contractors.
About you
cert IV in Business Administration or relevant field and/or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience
experience in business administration and previous work experience in either the higher education/tertiary sector or at a complex multi-faceted organisation
demonstrated ability to effectively manage resources and facilities
proven flexibility and self-motivated attitude with attention to detail
excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work co-operatively with internal and external stakeholders
advanced computer skills in the MS Office suite with extensive diary management experience
high-level problem-solving skills with the capacity to develop sound solutions to problems and issues, and an established record of exercising initiative
numeracy skills together with experience in controlling income/expenditure for reconciliation/budget tracking and managing invoice payments and purchases
compliance with the Public Health (COVID-19 Vaccination of Health Care Workers) Order 2021
current full Driver’s License.
