We’re proud of the important work we do across Victoria. Want to be part of it?
  • Work in a team dedicated to helping people make positive changes to their lives
  • Fixed Term, full time position based in Sale
  • Earn $97,955 - $111,142 per year (plus super) with guaranteed yearly increases.
Community Correctional Services (CCS) contributes to the safety of the community by applying practices that reduce reoffending and connecting individuals to programs, services and community. CCS provides management of individuals on court orders, people who have committed serious sex and violent offences on post sentence supervision, and prisoners on parole.
Evidence suggests that people who re-integrate into the community following a period of imprisonment require transitional support in order to reduce their risk of reoffending. Advanced Practitioners manage a case load of predominately complex and high-risk individuals sentenced to Community Correction Orders. This involves conducting risk assessments, preparing case plans, providing interventions, proactively challenging offending behaviours, addressing the underlying factors in offending whilst directing, and monitoring compliance with court order obligations. This role must also support individuals to successfully complete their court orders, while balancing risks to community safety. Advanced Practitioners may also lead and manage a small team of Case Managers and Case Officers.
Why we love this work
When a person's risk profile allows it, community-based rehabilitation is more effective at addressing offending behaviour than time in custody. In your work, you will hear another person's story. You will come to understand their world view. And you will hold them accountable for their decisions. You will be part of giving individuals a second chance to make a more positive contribution to the community.
Some of your day-to-day responsibilities include:
  • conducting risk assessments
  • preparing case plans
  • providing interventions
  • coordinating service providers and care teams
  • address the underlying causes of offending
  • leading and developing case management staff.
What we're looking for in Advanced Practitioners
At CCS, we regularly give new opportunities to promising candidates moving from other workplaces and similar industries, and we also support current staff to advance their careers.
We look for:
  • demonstrated experience in effective case management practices with complex clients
  • excellent verbal communication skills and confidence in dealing with people exhibiting challenging behaviours
  • a proven ability to model pro-social behaviours to a caseload of individuals
  • a passion for supporting clients in the justice system while contributing to community safety; and
  • an ability to lead and mentor staff to achieve their best.
What's in it for you?
  • A fair salary with yearly increases according to the VPS Agreement
  • Generous leave entitlements
  • Transparent performance framework
  • Employee Wellbeing support
  • Comprehensive training when you commence and throughout your career
  • Secondments and promotions
  • Discounted health insurance and salary sacrifice options
  • Read about how you will be supported in your role with CCS

We seek to prevent harm of any kind impacting children and young people and have zero tolerance for racism, child abuse and inequality. Children and young people's rights, relationships, identity, and culture must be recognised and respected, their voices heard, and their concerns acted upon.
