About the Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Postnatal Services team as Associate Midwife Unit Manager, where you will be responsible for:
- Providing and overseeing high-quality, person-centred postnatal midwifery care, ensuring optimal outcomes and continuity of care.
- Supporting the Midwifery Unit Manager in leadership duties including team coordination, performance management, and staff development.
- Acting as a clinical resource and role model, guiding less experienced staff and supporting student learning and orientation.
- Leading and participating in quality improvement, change management, and service planning initiatives within the unit.
- Contributing to clinical research, audits, and evidence-based practice to enhance care delivery and patient experience.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife, or Nurse/Midwife, with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding or eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.
- Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience as a Registered Nurse/Midwife or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
- Proven competence in midwifery practice aligned with professional standards.
- Experience supervising student midwives and less experienced registered midwives.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, ethics, and quality improvement systems within healthcare settings.
