The Role
Seeking passionate and professional bakers who are experienced in baking a wide range of high-quality bakery products, making different types of artisan bread, doughs and pastry. The role involves shift work, therefore there is an expectation to work days & nights but we ensure a work-life balance is always promoted!
Responsibilities include:
- Mixing and Baking a wide range of high-quality bakery products, according to recipe
- Making different types of artisan bread, doughs, pastry, muffins and cookies
- Kneading, maturing, cutting, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods
- Viennoiserie experience highly regarded - laminating dough, making croissants and other laminated pastries.
- Oven work and deck baking
- Ensure equipment always meets occupational health and safety regulations and ensure cleanliness prior to production
- Manage inventory and controlled costs
- Coordinate the forming, loading, baking, unloading and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products
Who are you?
What we are looking for in a candidate:
- A Cert III Retail Baking / Cert III Patisserie or similar
- 1-2 years of experience as a baker with a passion for creating unique and exceptional bread
- Competent in all aspects of baking with proven experience in an artisan bakery environment
- Creative flair and passion for producing quality baked goods
- Sound knowledge of dough types, including sourdough
- Sound knowledge of food safety and safe work practices
- Flexibility and availability to work across rotating roster including weekdays and weekends
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Maintain high-quality standards
- Possess strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Have a team player attitude and high attention to detail
