Are you passionate about beach safety and ready to make a real impact? The City of Stirling’s Beach Services team is seeking Casual Beach Lifeguards to help ensure the safety and comfort of over 1.5 million beachgoers across our stunning 7.5 km coastline—from Scarborough to Waterman’s Bay.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly skilled and motivated team that last year performed over 1,050 rescues, 31,000 preventative actions, and 475 first aids.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Monitor beach conditions and respond to emergencies
- Perform rescues, first aid, and preventative actions
- Communicate effectively with beach patrons and team members
- Maintain awareness of local beach regulations and safety protocols
- Operate independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
- Assist with beach safety education and public engagement
What You’ll Bring
To be considered, you’ll need to hold (or be completing in 2025) the following current qualifications:
- SLSA IRB Drivers Certificate (or equivalent)
- SLSA Bronze Medallion (or equivalent)
- Advanced Resuscitation Certificate
- Provide First Aid Certificate
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- National Police Clearance (under 3 months)
You’ll also demonstrate:
- Strong lifeguarding and surf lifesaving experience
- High alertness and decision-making in emergencies
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Physical fitness and endurance for demanding conditions
