About the Role
We are currently seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner recognised by the NDIS Commission (at Core, Proficient, or Advanced level) to join our team on a contractor or casual basis. You will be responsible for conducting assessments and developing Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs) for participants with complex behavioural needs in accordance with the NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators.
This role offers flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to positive outcomes for people with disability.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBAs) in line with NDIS guidelines
- Develop and implement Behaviour Support Plans that are person-centred, evidence-informed, and compliant with restrictive practice reporting requirements
- Provide coaching and training to families, carers, and support workers to support plan implementation
- Monitor, review, and update behaviour support plans to ensure effectiveness
- Maintain accurate documentation and submit reports/plans via the NDIS Commission portal
- Collaborate with participants, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic and ethical support
Requirements
- Must be recognised by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner (Core, Proficient, or Advanced)
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, or related field
- Experience working with individuals with complex behaviours and disability
- Knowledge of restrictive practices and the Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- ABN, professional indemnity and public liability insurance (for contractors)
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Police Check, and Working With Children Check
- Driver’s licence and vehicle (if in-person visits required)
