As an Allied Health Assistant within the Transitional Aged Care Program, you will play a vital role in the provision of Allied Health Services to the Transitional Aged Care Program (TACP) clients in its community (Transpac) and residential (Transitional Care Unit) services.

About the Role

This role involves supporting clients, patients, or consumers through direct care, including routine evaluations, treatment preparation, and providing service-related information. It also includes assisting in assessing individual needs to help design and deliver therapeutic programs under the guidance of Allied Health Professionals, with attention to diagnoses and safety precautions. The position requires effective communication of observations to supervisors and healthcare team members to aid in care planning and treatment.

Administrative responsibilities include managing tasks such as word processing, phone calls, photocopying, and inventory tracking. Staff are expected to stay current with educational requirements, participate in supervision and performance reviews, and adhere to NSW Health and CCLHD policies. Employees must also ensure workplace safety by following procedures, reporting risks, and acting responsibly to protect the health and safety of others.

About You

  • Possess a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistant/relevant qualification or willingness to undertake this training.

  • Current unencumbered NSW driver’s licence and the ability and willingness to travel across sites for meetings and clinical care provision.

  • Demonstrated previous experience working in a health environment, with a range of patient cohorts across inpatient, outpatient and/or community settings.

  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy.

  • Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising Allied Health Professional.

  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and cooperatively with health professionals in a multidisciplinary team environment.
