Job Description
As our CHPP Tailings and Support (co-disposal) Superintendent you will be responsible for the management and execution of plans of the co-disposal activities in line with the requirements of the Operations, Maintenance and Surveillance (OMS) Manual. You’ll provide support to the operations team to deliver CHPP KPI’s. All while possessing a zero-harm mindset which will be forefront for all activities.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Ensure that the work practices and systems within the CHPP team are consistent with the Anglo Coal Safety, Health, Environment and Community Management System and any statutory requirements by monitoring and reviewing activities to minimize any negative impact on the environment and minimize the exposure of SHEC related risks to employees.
- Ensure Moranbah North Mine meets its statutory and corporate SHEC obligations by and supporting the development of the Anglo Coal Safety, Health, Environment and Community Management System.
- Effectively plan, monitor and coordinate personnel, equipment and resources to achieve agreed Co-disposal Area and CHPP targets and schedules. Ensure all systems and procedures are adhered to and people work to requirements.
- Interpret design specifications and effectively communicate the concept to operational teams
- Liaise with internal Co-disposal Contractors and external stakeholders
- Identify, design solutions for and implement strategies to improve safety performance.
- Manage the training requirements of all direct reports to ensure that employees have the required skills and competencies to perform effectively and safely
- Build, lead and develop the team to deliver departmental plans and continuous improvement objectives within the CHPP and Co-disposal Area.
- Provide direction, coaching and mentoring to aid employee development, ensuring that employees know and understand their roles and performance objectives.
- Personally exhibit an uncompromising stand on safety standards and appropriate risk management.
- Assist when required for all breakdowns to CHPP infrastructure
Qualifications
To be successful in the role, you will have the following:
- Experience in similar CHPP, CDA or Tailings operations will be highly regarded
- Experience working within heavy industries and Opencut Mines
- Supervisory Competencies S1, S2, S3 and G2 - Facilitating Risk Management
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills as well as the ability to drive performance

- Monday to Friday staff roster (9-day fortnight available)
