Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in solution engineering or architecture.
- 5 years of experience in stakeholder management, professional services, or technical consulting.
- 3 years of experience in system architecture and reading code (e.g., Python).
- The role requires the applicant to hold and maintain Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) Negative Vetting 2 (NV2).
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience implementing projects in a customer-focused and changing environment.
- Experience designing for Information Security Registered Assessors Program (IRAP) accreditation.
- Experience with application of government security frameworks and standards, including the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), and Essential Eight.
- Experience in a consulting or lead architect role on large government projects.
- Understanding of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) environments.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools and principles to enable automated and consistent infrastructure deployment.

- Lead the end-to-end architectural design for the government private cloud, from conceptualization and High-Level Design (HLD) to detailed Low-Level Design (LLD), ensuring alignment with program objectives, business requirements, and technical standards.
- Translate government customer requirements, including performance, scalability, resilience, and particularly stringent security and compliance mandates (e.g., ISM, PSPF, Essential Eight), into concrete, actionable architectural designs.
- Produce comprehensive and clear architectural documentation, including design specifications, diagrams, decision logs, and best practice guides, to support successful implementation, operation, and future evolution of the private cloud.
- Coordinate with engineering any issues that may arise with infrastructure design issues, escalating to product teams as needed.
- Drive innovative approaches to operating and supporting infrastructure to achieve customer results.
