Where stories begin, and neighbourhoods come to life.
Welcome to Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets, where every guest walks into a local story. Located in the heart of the iconic Adelaide Central Market, we’re proud to be the first Hotel Indigo in Australia—a boutique hotel designed for curious travellers and locals alike.
With 145 design-led rooms, our vibrant Market & Meander restaurant, and the lively Merrymaker rooftop bar with sweeping views and cosmic cocktails, we’re more than just a hotel—we’re a hub of culture, food, and connection.
Every plate has the potential to create a memory that lasts a lifetime for our guests. To deliver all this and more, we’re looking for a Commis chef with a passion for presentation, dedication to flavour and commitment to setting high standards from workspace to table and beyond.
At Hotel Indigo, we want our team to bring their whole authentic selves to work. You'll have a true drive to progress your culinary career and develop your skills. You will have the opportunity to produce a wide range of quality products, using local, seasonal produce, whilst exercising your knowledge of hygiene and safety and maintaining our high guest service standards.
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
- Making every single meal a feast for the eyes and a treat for the tastebuds
- Taking ownership of your workstation – keeping on top of supplies, equipment and waste
- Being cleaner than clean to meet or exceed local cleanliness and hygiene laws
- Helping with washing up and other kitchen duties where needed
- Taking on other ad-hoc duties like a true team player
What We need from you:

- An understanding of HACCP and the ability to comply with local laws on food handling
