Civmec is excited to announce that we have been awarded the FMG Green Iron Project.
Located near Christmas Creek in the Pilbara region is part of Fortescue’s strategic move toward green steel production. Fortescue is leveraging its abundant renewable resources in the Pilbara to decarbonise its iron and steel operations, aiming to produce green iron using hydrogen instead of traditional carbon-intensive methods.
Civmec has been awarded the delivery of the Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical & Instrumentation packages of work that will kick off June 2025 with project completion scheduled for early 2026. The project offers a 3:1 roster with transport to and from site provided from Perth Airport.

The Role
- Pouring of concrete into formwork and assisting with formwork
- Spreading and levelling of concrete using rakes, shovels, hand and machine trowels
- Screeding and finishing concrete
- Curing of concrete and monitoring the effects of weather during the curing process
- Assisting with vibration and concrete compaction
- Perform other general duties as required
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- Ability to demonstrate screeding and finishing concrete to a high standard (essential)
- minimum 2+ years' industry experience working as a Concrete Finisher
- Previous civil construction experience within the mining and resources sectors (preferable)
- A willingness to assist Form Workers, Steel Fixers and other Concrete-related trades if required
- Nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness card (White Card)
