You'll be front and centre working in a team to drive proactive external communications to reach and engage consumers and investors and help ensure Moneysmart is a leading, independent financial source of information for Australians. Working collaboratively across internal teams and with external partners, you will develop and deliver impactful, external communications and identify and execute media relations activities.

The team
ASIC's Communications and Corporate Affairs Group is responsible for leading ASIC's communications and stakeholder engagement including internal, corporate and external communications (including media), as well as digital and social channels. Its purpose is to build and leverage strategic stakeholder relationships to drive engagement and protect and enhance ASIC's reputation. This role sits within the Consumer Communications team which is accountable for consumer communications for ASIC and Moneysmart.
The role
As the Consumer Communications Lead, you will:
- Develop and implement external communication strategies for MoneySmart and ASIC's consumer-focused priorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key media, agencies, and stakeholders to deliver integrated campaigns.
- Manage media activities, enquiries, and proactive opportunities that align with strategic goals.
- Deliver impactful consumer communication content, including media releases, articles, and digital assets.
- Oversee campaign budgets, timelines, and performance metrics to ensure successful delivery.
About you
You will hold relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, media, public relations, or a related discipline, with 6-8 years' experience in communications, media, or PR (including digital and social media). You have demonstrated success leading and executing external communication strategies from concept to delivery - ideally for a consumer brand, government department, or financial services organisation. Strong knowledge of the Australian media landscape, content creation, and the ability to pitch and secure media coverage are essential. Experience in financial services or regulation will be highly regarded.
You are also a creative and strategic communicator with exceptional written skills and a proven ability to craft compelling, consumer-focused narratives. Adept at managing competing priorities, you thrive under pressure while maintaining quality and accuracy. Your strong project management skills ensure timely delivery of campaigns, and your collaborative approach allows you to work effectively across teams. You are passionate about building financial literacy and delivering communications that make a meaningful impact for Australian consumers and investors.
