Important location update: This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the Event Strategy and Delivery Branch (ESD) during a period of growth and transition. Initially based at 530 Collins Street, Melbourne, the position will relocate to the new office at 465 Plummer Street, Port Melbourne from October 2025.

On occasion, some Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) positions may be required to travel to country Victoria and there may be periods of overnight stays.

What you will be doing

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Centralised Delivery, in this role you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the daily operations of the VEC's Centralised Activities Site to ensure the efficient and compliant delivery of electoral, administrative, and customer service programs.
  • Leading the scheduling, onboarding, and task allocation for site-based staff, including casual and surge teams, to support high-quality service delivery.
  • Liaising with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless coordination of logistics, IT, and program delivery functions.
  • Driving continuous improvement by identifying operational inefficiencies and contributing to the trial and feedback of new processes and tools.

What you will bring to the role

  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating operational activities in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment, with a strong focus on compliance, safety, and quality standards.
  • Proven ability to lead and support diverse teams through clear direction, coaching, and performance monitoring.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make real-time decisions and manage competing priorities under pressure.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and escalate issues appropriately.
