The Cyber Controls Chapter Area plays a crucial function within the Group Security division being responsible for designing and deploying effective cyber control capabilities and overseeing continuous improvement of the Group’s cyber risk profile.

As an organisation with a large IT estate servicing millions of customers every day, we need to ensure effective mitigations are in place to defend our assets against an ever-evolving cyber threat environment. The Malware Protection team is tasked to ensure control capabilities are in place and that our defensive posture is continuously improving across the Group in a timely and effective manner.

We support our people with the flexibility to balance where work is done, with at least half your time each month connecting in the office. We also have many other flexible working options available including changing start and finish times, part-time arrangements and job share to name a few. Do work that matters.

Reporting to the Senior Manager -Malware Protection , you will be a part of a team that will proactively define and execute the strategies required to ensure that our endpoints are protected, that our defensive posture is continuously improving, and that we perform good governance across our endpoint security.

You will:

  • Assist in providing visibility into the relative and absolute cyber security posture of our malware protection control.
  • Help define appropriate plans to ensure that endpoint security technologies continue to evolve in relation to the emerging threat environment and industry best practices.
  • Gather insights from analysis and contribute to the stakeholder forum including malware feedback loop to facilitate conversation around control gap and improving efficacy of our controls.
  • Play a key role towards metric formulation, measurement, and thoughtful but concise dialogue on continuously evolving our malware cyber protection posture to meet the threat landscape.

We are interested in hearing from people who:

  • Knowledge of endpoint security technologies like threat protection capabilities( Anti-virus, Endpoint Detection and Response, Exploit Prevention) and Application control capabilities.
  • Knowledge on risk management and cyber security framework - i.e NIST, Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) Essential Eight, Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM)
  • Strong presentation skills required, including the ability to prepare clear, concise, and technically accurate presentation packs
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as well-developed written and oral communication skills
  • A risk-averse mind set with experience working in a large organization and supporting a complex network environment.
  • Passionate interest to advance knowledge within the Endpoint Security domain.

Desirable Technical Skills :

  • Proficiency in endpoint security tools (e.g. Microsoft Defender Endpoint, Airlock, etc.)
  • Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. Splunk, Tableau) and proficiency in creating executive-level dashboards and reports.
