About the role:
The Deputy Secretary leads the Office of Sport, the agency responsible to deliver the NSW Government’s vision for a more active and connected state. You will shape strategy, policy and partnerships to grow participation, improve wellbeing and oversee services, facilities and programs that support lifelong involvement in sport and active recreation across NSW.
You will work closely with partners including the NSW Institute of Sport, Venues NSW, Destination NSW, the Combat Sports Authority and motorsport bodies to unlock shared opportunities and deliver system-wide reform. This senior leadership role is focused on collaboration, innovation and delivering social, health and economic outcomes through sport.

About you:
You are a senior leader with strong experience in sport, active recreation or related sectors, coupled with an understanding of government and reform. Credible and outcomes-focused, you bring sound judgement, financial acumen and are comfort operating in high-profile public settings.
With excellent stakeholder and communication skills, you build trusted relationships with partners including peak bodies, boards, communities and Ministers. You are strategic, collaborative and resilient, bringing the leadership needed to deliver long-term value for the people of NSW through sport.
