Due to a recent internal promotion, an exciting opportunity has opened to join our Planning Services team to meet the current and future needs of Council. Your main responsibilities would include the facilitation of positive development outcomes, proficient planning advice and assessment, as well as strategic thinking to help shape the future development of the City.


There will be a focus for this role on the assessment of ‘Performance Assessed’ and ‘Deemed to Satisfy’ applications within the City of Playford. The provision of high-level customer service to applicants and the general public will be critical, in conjunction with supporting a positive team environment and culture.


What you’ll bring to the team:

You will have working knowledge of the Planning, Development & Infrastructure Act 2016 and be tertiary qualified in Planning and hold (or be eligible for) full membership of the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA). You should be motivated to develop your skills in Development Assessment and have a high level of time management skills to achieve competing deadlines.


In addition, you will have:

  • Working knowledge of building design and practices with an ability to review/analyse plans, drawings, technical details and specifications
  • Ability to exercise a high level of interpersonal skills in dealing with the public and other organisations
  • Demonstrated experience in the assessment of Development Applications through the Development Assessment Portal
  • Hold a valid Class C Driving Licence
