Digital Development Support Officer
- Location – Parramatta

- Grade – Clerk Grade 5/6
- Salary – $99,938 pa - $110,271 pa plus employers’ contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your Role
Join us as a Digital Development Support Officer and lead the technical development, management, and support of DCJ’s websites and intranet. Help deliver smarter, faster, and more accessible digital services for communities across NSW.
Reporting to the Senior Development Officer, Product Operations you’ll assist in the implementation and management of technical development and evaluation of DCJ websites and intranet that achieve documented requirements and contribute to the department achieving its strategic objectives.
What you’ll do
As a Digital Development Support Officer, you will:
- Work as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team to deliver digital products.
- Participate in the design, development, and quality assurance (QA) of websites and intranet platforms.
- Ensure technical development aligns with responsive design principles.
- Support the on-time, on-budget delivery of digital projects.
- Help drive business outcomes by combining smart processes with innovative technology.
The Communications team works collaboratively within Corporate Services to develop strategies, plans and resources that contribute to the department achieving its strategic objectives. The team works across digital and traditional communication channels, including print, social media, online (websites and intranet), events and face-to-face to deliver communication strategy that is aligned with the organisation’s strategic objectives and NSW Government Design Standards.
The Digital Experience team is responsible for managing the DCJ websites and intranet. Through these channels we provide an inclusive, consistent, high-quality digital experience for our clients and customers.
What we’re looking for
We’re seeking someone with the skills and experience to help deliver high-quality digital products.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory environment for government digital communications, including security, accessibility (including Web Content Accessibility Guidelines [WCAG AA]), usability, compliance with legislative requirements, brand management and procurement
- Knowledge of contemporary web and digital development standards and languages (e.g. HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, XML, PHP, Java, React, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, HTL (Sightly)
- Experience with one or more Java concepts and patterns including: Java/J2EE, JSP, Spring, Sling, JMS, JUnit, MVC, Eclipse
- Experience with advanced web and digital product development techniques and frameworks including development of templates, workflows, and design patterns (e.g. Object Oriented CSS and JS)
- Demonstrated experience working on large scale digital products powered by Enterprise Content Management System (CMS) such as Adobe Experience Manager
- Knowledge of configuring and working with build tools and source code management systems (e.g. Git, SVN, Maven, Grunt etc)
