We are seeking a Support Worker to assist a complex participant who frequently presents with physical aggression. This role requires resilience, patience, and professionalism.
About the Role
As a Support Worker, you will:
- Receive comprehensive training to prepare you for the role.
- Provide person-centred support that promotes independence and choice.
- Assist participants with daily personal care and community access.
- Manage challenging behaviours with professionalism and care.
- Work under general guidance while exercising sound judgment and initiative.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and participant plans to ensure safe and consistent support.
- Demonstrate respect and commitment to Christian values in your work.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience supporting participants with physical aggression (essential).
- Strong interpersonal, organisational, and observation skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately to challenging situations.
- A genuine interest in supporting people with disabilities to live meaningful, fulfilling lives.
- Flexibility, resilience, and the ability to work with limited supervision.
- NDIS experience (highly regarded but not essential).
- Qualifications in Disability, Mental Health, or Community Services (highly regarded).
Requirements
- Relevant experience (3+ years highly regarded).
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Working with Children Check (current).
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Current Driver’s Licence and reliable car (preferred).
Job Type: Permanent
Pay: $34.00 – $68.00 per hour
