NBMLHD Community Mental Health offers a range of specialised services for children, young people, families and older people, through our community-based services and health centres. Our multidisciplinary health professionals and case managers take a collaborative approach to mental health care by linking with their patients to work together and consult within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.
Join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) team as a Mental Health Clinician, delivering community-based mental health care to children and young people aged 5–18 and their families. This role focuses on rapid, developmentally appropriate assessment and person-centred care, tailored to each family's needs, whether through outreach or local services.
You'll play a vital part in reducing hospital admissions by providing assertive risk management and early intervention. Working closely with young people and their support networks, you'll deliver evidence-based therapeutic care, strengthen relationships across home, school and community, and empower families to improve mental health outcomes.

What you will bring to the role
- Recognised tertiary qualification in psychology or occupational therapy, with current registration with AHPRA, or social work and eligibility for membership of AASW.
- Demonstrated skills to apply professional knowledge and skills in a complex child and youth mental health setting, including evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of family systems and ability to work therapeutically with families to improve mental health outcomes for children and young people.
- Demonstrated understanding of childhood trauma, child protection and domestic and other violence as they relate to child and youth mental health.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to utilise a range of information systems.
- Demonstrated skills in evidence-based practice, quality improvement and capacity to participate in research projects to evaluate and develop practice.
- NSW Driver's License Class C (including P1 or above) and willingness to use same for work purposes
