About the Role
We are seeking casual Disability Support Workers to provide one-on-one support for a client in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home during sleepover shifts. Your responsibilities may include applying Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies to manage challenging behaviours effectively. If your shift starts earlier in the evening, you might assist with bedtime routines such as personal care or helping the client wind down. Throughout the night, your primary role will be to remain available to respond to any needs that arise, while typically having a passive rest period.
Key Responsibilities may include:
- Use Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and Restrictive Practice (RP) techniques to help manage challenging behaviours.
- Assist with evening tasks like personal care.
- Be available overnight to quickly respond to any client needs or emergencies.
- Keep accurate records, including daily notes and incident reports.
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience in the disability sector
- Familiarity or experience with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and Restrictive Practice (RP)
- Ability to work sleepover shifts
Requirements
- Valid drivers licence (P2 or open class)
- Senior First Aid and CPR certificate
- NDIS worker screening clearance (yellow card)
- QLD blue card (working with children check)
