About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person-centred support to male and female clients living with disability in Gosnells and surrounding suburbs. Provide one-on-one support to individuals with disabilities in their homes or the community, with travel between clients and working short 3-6 hour split shifts.
Shifts fall between Monday to Friday primarily between 8am to 8:30pm. Wednesday and occasional weekend availability required.
Key Responsibilities
- Sports fan with a love for shopping? You will have plenty to chat about!
- Independently support clients who display complex behaviours requiring high-level daily care
- Assistance with basic personal care including teeth brushing and shaving
- Facilitate inclusive community-based activities to promote social engagement
- Provide transportation to appointments or community access
- Domestic assistance including cleaning and meal preparation
- Empower clients to find their strengths and promote independence
- Respond to changing routines and support needs in volatile environments
Skills & Experience
- Ability to work autonomously supporting clients one on one in the community
- An unrestricted Western Australia driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
- A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011
Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
