Why This Role Exists
We built this role to give first and second year law students early exposure to real client files, legal drafting, and direct mentorship.
You’ll become the driver behind our estate planning matters, own your work, and graduate with experience sought by employers.
What Makes It Unique
1-on-1 Onboarding. Training is provided by the firm’s senior director. It’s intense, hands-on, and far above industry standard.
Schedule Flexibility. Work 2 - 3days/week during semester; drop to 1 during exams.
Real Legal Work. You’ll own estate planning files, interact with clients, and master the kind of work many don’t see until their grad years.
What You’ll Do
Run estate planning files: client contact, meeting coordination, drafting.
Learn and apply our internal systems and process.
Be part of a firm that welcomes improvements.
Build skills in time management, document control, and client delivery at scale.
Availability & Commencement
Two or three days a week (you decide when we make the job offer), with the ability to reduce it to one day during exams.
Start immediately or at end of semester. The actual date will be agreed with the successful candidate.
You must also be able to complete your training period. The training period commences when you start. It lasts six weeks and is composed of:
(a) 5 days a week (full-time), for the first three weeks; and then
(b) 3 days a week (part-time), for the next three weeks.
After training, you move to your choice of 2 or 3 days/week.
About Us
We are a Wills and Estates Law Firm. We help people navigate the legal complexities around estate planning and estate administration.
We hire people who love precision, improvement, and learning. And we’re serious about giving juniors the kind of experience that builds real career capital.
We have been recognised by our peers in the Best Lawyers publication. Our firm has also been named in the Doyle's Guide as a Leading Law Firm for six consecutive years.
Part of that recognition is due to our belief in custom solutions for our clients and ourselves; so much so that we developed our own software which powers our practice.
While each of our directors has been in practice for 19-plus years, we still believe there’s plenty to learn and heaps of room to improve. We push ourselves so that we are always striving to be better than what we were yesterday.
For fun, we created this little behind-the-scenes clip on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/SmLtgywUMJw
Oh! And we like movies, tv shows and board games.
