Job Description
Our highly regarded Environmental team in Darwin is seeking Graduate to Professional-level Environmental Scientists and Engineers to support a wide range of exciting and meaningful projects across the Defence, government, mining, and energy sectors.
At AECOM’s Darwin office, you’ll gain hands-on experience in:
- Environmental impact assessment and approvals
- Contaminated land investigations and remediation
- Hydrology, hydrogeology, and water quality monitoring
- Biodiversity surveys and ecological assessments
- Environmental management planning and auditing

What will a day in this role look like:
- Conducting fieldwork in diverse and remote environments across the NT and beyond
- Supporting or leading the preparation of environmental assessments, management plans, and technical reports
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, client-focused outcomes
- Engaging with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to support project delivery and business development efforts
- Contributing to a positive team culture and collaborative, knowledge-sharing environment
Qualifications

What are we looking for from you?
- A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, and a valid Australian driver’s licence
- A strong interest or experience in environmental approvals, contaminated land, or ecological fieldwork
- Able to work independently, manage competing priorities and get involved across a wide range of projects while contributing to a supportive, team-focused environment
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – with the ability to translate technical concepts clearly
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently when needed
- A proactive attitude, curiosity to learn, and a commitment to delivering quality work
