Create your best future and join Westpac as an Executive Manager- Governance, Quality Assurance and Controls

What’s the role?
This full-time leadership role, based in Westpac’s Sydney office three days per week, places you at the heart of the Group Reporting & Analytics (GR&A) function. You’ll lead a newly created team focused on strengthening governance, enhancing quality assurance, and embedding robust controls across our regulatory reporting landscape.

You'll help develop and embed an enhanced operating model for regulatory reporting, while managing governance, controls, and quality assurance in line with internal frameworks and regulatory requirements. As the key contact for escalation, you'll oversee control assessments, maintain governance frameworks, and support the teams preparing external reports including those required by APRA by ensuring frameworks are in place to ensure accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement across the reporting lifecycle.

What do I need?

We’re looking for a strategic thinker and collaborative leader who brings:

  • Strong expertise in regulatory reporting, governance frameworks, and quality assurance.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to guide and inspire high-performing teams (you will already be operating at the Executive Manager or equivalent level)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
  • The ability to navigate complexity, manage competing priorities, and deliver results under pressure.

As this is a newly established function, you’ll thrive in an environment that welcomes fresh thinking, embraces new challenges, and values the opportunity to build frameworks and processes from the ground up. Working closely with senior stakeholders and regulatory bodies, you’ll help shape the standards that ensure our reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned with evolving expectations.

If you’re passionate about driving excellence, leading meaningful change, and making a lasting impact, this is a unique opportunity to do just that.

Why join us?

We’re obsessed with becoming our customers #1 banking partner for life and we’re looking for people who are passionate about helping us achieve that goal. In return we’re committed to making Westpac the best place to work in the country. Here are just a few of the ways we’re already doing that:

  • Tailored learning and development opportunities to help your grow your career within the bank.
  • Lots of opportunities to ‘give back’ to the Community by getting involved in our many volunteering initiatives
