As the Farm Operations Manager at Wilmar Sugar & Renewables, you will lead the implementation of innovative practices across Wilmar's farming operations. In this role, you will manage and guide a team to safely carry out all operational and maintenance activities on Wilmar farms. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and executing programs aimed at enhancing productivity and reducing costs across the farming portfolio.

Your Role in Action
- Farm Operations Management: Oversee daily farm operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and adherence to best practices.
- Team Leadership & Development: Coach, mentor, and manage farm personnel to build capability and drive performance across all levels, along with managing of contractors on site
- Agronomic Excellence & Innovation: Implement best-practice agronomic systems to improve yield, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability.
- Research & Industry Collaboration: Partner with industry bodies and growers to trial and adopt innovative farming systems and technologies.
- Operational Planning & Improvement: Develop and lead operational plans that drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Technology Integration & Data Management: Leverage farm technology and data systems to monitor performance and inform decision-making.
- Financial & Resource Accountability: Manage budgets, purchasing, and reporting to ensure cost-effective, compliant farm operations.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Compliance: Maintain strong internal and external relationships while meeting all corporate and legislative obligations.
Your Winning Combination
Our ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of recent experience in cane harvesting or agricultural operations, along with 5 years in a management role, ideally within the sugar industry. They will demonstrate strong leadership, practical knowledge of farming technologies, and a solid understanding of WHS legislation. Experience in a corporate reporting environment is essential. Tertiary qualifications in Agronomy or a related field (or equivalent experience) are required, with additional business qualifications highly regarded. A current Queensland "C" Class driver's licence and proficiency in Microsoft Office are also essential.
