Supporting Abilities for Everyone (S.A.F.E.) is seeking a passionate Disability Support Worker to join the team, located throughout eastern Melbourne.
- Male participant.
- Mitcham location.
- Monday, Thursday, Friday 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. Tuesday, Wednesday time to be confirmed, but likely 11:00 am - 2:00 pm.
- Motor Neurone Disease (MND) diagnosis and experience preferred.
- Female support worker(s) preferred.
- Car that is easy to transfer into required (nothing to large or too small).
- Experience with speech difficulties advantageous.
- Doesn’t like personalities that are too overpowering or too quiet. Participant wants someone to be engaged in conversation but not too bubbly.
- Tasks may include: Supporting to appointments, socialising, and going out for lunch. Maybe a drive somewhere (i.e. the Dandenongs etc).
- Support requirements expected to increase over time.
- Possibility for additional work with other participants nearby.
We are looking for a competent, enthusiastic and reliable Support Worker who possesses the right empathy, interpersonal skills and ethics to prioritise the care of our clients.
Essential Selection Criteria (or willingness to obtain):
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Current National Police Check
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee status/if working with participants <18 years of age).
- Valid Australian Driver’s License.
- A reliable vehicle with Comprehensive Car Insurance (to transport participants).
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (Approximately $123).
- Fully vaccinated against Covid-19 (minimum of two doses).
- The right to work in Australia.

Pay: $40.00 per hour
