The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, this role is responsible for managing Council’s Creditors and Accounts Payable activities. You will ensure effective control over supplier payments, reconcile accounts, and act as the first point of contact for supplier queries. Additionally, you will provide backup support to the Payroll Specialist, assisting with payroll processing as needed.
The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate IV or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline and possess recent hands-on experience in accounts payable and payroll functions. Experience working collaboratively within a team and a solid understanding of best practice financial controls will be highly valued. A current Class C Driver Licence is also required.
To succeed in this role, you will need strong organisational and time management skills, intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and a customer service mindset. You’ll also need to be comfortable identifying process improvements and working within established policies to maintain accuracy and compliance.

Annual salary of $70,451 to $80,278 (plus super).
