Primary objective
The Finance Services Officer will assist in delivering the daily operations of the Finance Services Banking team to support the delivery of
quality service to client agencies. Daily operations include the provision and maintenance of corporate credit cards, receiving Territory
monies, processing international payments, project work, facilitating new services, access maintenance for banking systems and any other
general banking support for client agencies.

As a shared service provider for Whole of Government, Finance Services provides banking, reconciliation, taxation, accounts payable,
ledger and asset services.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Delivery of quality and efficient service to client agencies across a wide range of products and services.
2. Preparation of journals and receipting for the Government Accounting System when required.
3. Quality checking and processing client agency ad-hoc payment requests ensuring that relevant fraud controls have been applied.
4. Update and maintain complex Excel spreadsheets which are used in a variety of applications within the team, and in response to regular
agency reporting requirements.
5. Support the team with daily operations across a range of duties and projects in an environment which can have shifting priorities.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Experience in corporate accounting systems; including processing journals, receipting and reconciliation.
2. Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, including recent use of complex Excel spreadsheets and formulas.
3. Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new processes and software applications, including the ability to understand and follow
legislation, regulations and administrative procedures in a finance environment.
4. Good organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to meet timeframes and deadlines in a busy environment.
5. Ability to work effectively as a team member, demonstrate a high level of commitment to the workplace and contribute to, and support,
a positive team environment and outstanding customer service delivery.
6. Good verbal and written communication skills to enable information to be accurately relayed to internal and external stakeholders.
7. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which aligns with DCDD values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical practice,
accountability, impartiality, diversity and respect.
Desirable
1. Qualifications in accounting or other relevant business discipline.
