Our client is a genuinely top tier 12 person boutique financial advisory firm which has a strong HNW and UHNW client base. This role works closely with the Senior Financial Advisers who “lead” client engagements and with team members to plan and coordinate the delivery of advice and services to clients of the firm. The suitable candidate will hold the requisite qualifications and experience to be an authorised representative of the firm’s AFS Licence and is therefore authorised to provide financial advice to clients.
They are a relatively small firm and consciously target and serve a defined number and type of higher net worth clients who value and seek highly personalised care and service. They require a dedicated professional, who is prepared to ‘roll up your sleeves’ and take ownership and get involved in and across many things. There are team members whose primary role is to perform tasks that this candidate will delegate to them – eg: a paraplanning team who prepare the advice documents, a client service team who attend to administrative and implementation tasks – but due to the nature of their client base and the high personal service and care offered, there will always be circumstances where the Financial Adviser – and the Senior Financial Adviser – get closely involved or attend to important tasks themselves, no matter what the task.
Responsibilities include:
- With support from other team members, conducting research and analysis to support financial planning recommendations for clients.
- Preparing Statements of Advice, Records of Advice, Investment proposals, and other client-facing materials.
- Managing client portfolios by executing trades, rebalancing accounts, and monitoring performance.
- Responding to client inquiries and providing high-quality client service
- Collaborating with other members of the team to ensure that client work progresses to plan and that clients receive a comprehensive and coordinated approach to their financial planning needs.
- Leading, supervising and mentoring other team members.
- Staying up to date with industry trends and regulatory changes that impact client portfolios.
- Consistently perform to high technical expertise and standards.
- Develop innovative solutions
- Undertake ongoing training and education as required to perform your role.
Experience Required
- Strong knowledge of investment products, financial markets, and tax laws.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in relevant computer programs (Microsoft suite) and financial planning software (XPlan).
- Maintenance of qualifications and accreditations required by law, regulatory and financial planning professional bodies or associations and the Company.
This is a close-knit and high-performing team, and you will learn from a distinguised leadership team. They have a hybrid work environment, but being an advisor, they hope that the candidate will want to mostly be in the office meeting clients. They are a very successful firm, and you will have the chance to develop your skills and be financially do well.
