The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our South Australian Project Management team. Based in Adelaide, this leadership position is pivotal in driving business success through strategic direction, operational excellence, and a strong client-centric approach.
You’ll be responsible for developing and executing the business plan for the South Australian PM office, ensuring alignment with RPS’s broader objectives. This includes financial oversight, team leadership, client relationship management, and business development activities to achieve sustainable, profitable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership to deliver high-quality, profitable client outcomes
- Provide Project Management support for large building and property, infrastructure and defence projects including planning, construction and integration
- Build, lead, and empower a high-performing Adelaide-based project management team
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
- Drive business development and tendering activities
- Oversee project lifecycle phases including planning, design, implementation, and close-out
- Manage financial performance including cost planning, budgeting, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental and contractual standards
- Foster a culture of inclusion, safety, innovation, and continuous improvement
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
- Senior management experience leading small to medium teams in the growth of a professional services business, delivering within a framework of targets and strategic plans.
- Well-established network of relationships with potential clients and service providers that you can leverage to support growth in the business unit.
- Experience in marketing, business development and financial management
- AIPM Certified Practising Project Director certification (or equivalent) – desirable
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes on time, on budget, and to specification
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance (Must be an Australian citizen)
