ATCO Gas owns and operates Western Australia's largest gas distribution network, with over 800,000 connection points and 14,500km of pipelines. ATCO also operates two progressive power generation stations - in Adelaide and the Pilbara.
We’re looking for a skilled GIS Analyst to join our Asset Management team located in Jandakot, WA on a 12 month contract. Supporting the maintenance of spatial data and delivering solutions for project delivery and operations. You’ll work with multiple teams and contribute to the development of ESRI Portal and updates to ArcGIS Pro.
What You’ll Do:
- Improve Enterprise GIS, including Web Mapping and Dashboards.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to support the efficient, accurate and timely recording, maintenance and delivery of asset information.
- Assist with day-to-day management of internal GIS databases and contribute to the development of data analysis tools.
- Provide high-level technical advice regarding Geospatial Information, GIS systems, standards and procedures.
- Maintain and update critical information such as mains and services locations, functional locations, meter numbers, land boundary data, address information and other relevant gas distribution assets.
Exposure & Experience
Qualifications:
- Degree in GIS, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science (spatial major), or Computer/Data Science (GIS stream).
- Postgraduate qualification in Geospatial Intelligence, Spatial Analytics, or Enterprise GIS (desirable).
- Esri Technical Certification (e.g. ArcGIS Desktop Associate/Professional) or equivalent (desirable).
- Skills in spatial scripting and automation (e.g. Python, SQL), and ArcGIS Utility Network.
- Experience or training in spatial data governance, web mapping (ArcGIS Online), and dashboard tools (e.g. ArcGIS Dashboards, Power BI).
- FME Certification or demonstrated experience (desirable).
Background:
- Proven GIS experience in utilities, infrastructure, or engineering sectors.
- Proficient in ArcGIS Pro and FME for spatial analysis, data transformation and automation.
- Familiar with ArcGIS Utility Network, enterprise GIS (e.g. ArcSDE), and CAD-to-GIS workflows (MicroStation/AutoCAD).
- Skilled in geospatial scripting (Python, ModelBuilder, Arcade).
- Experience developing GIS specifications, procedures, and supporting spatial data governance.
- Delivered GIS solutions for cross-functional teams in planning, engineering, or regulatory contexts.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, providing spatial insights and technical guidance.
