About the role

As a Grants Assessment Officer, you will facilitate and coordinate the development and delivery of recovery grants programs, ensuring compliance with the NSW Grants Administration Guide. You’ll provide guidance to applicants, assess applications, and make recommendations on eligibility and funding levels. Your role will also involve advising staff on program guidelines and supporting continuous improvement in grants assessment processes. You’ll prepare documentation for reporting and evaluation, and draft correspondence and briefing notes to support informed decision-making across the department.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Strong understanding of governance and compliance in grants management
  • Experience assessing applications and making informed recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with applicants and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to contribute to process improvement
  • Strong writing skills for preparing reports, correspondence, and briefing notes


Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in grants administration or program coordination.

About the Agency


The NSW Reconstruction Authority is a statutory corporation and executive agency of the Premier’s Department, that will improve how NSW plans for disasters and ensure that we recover from them faster.

To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the NSW Reconstruction Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, businesses and government.
