Your Impact: Head of IT Projects
We’re looking for an experienced and strategic Head of IT Projects to lead the successful delivery of Transdev’s IT project portfolio across ANZ. This is a key leadership role responsible for portfolio governance, resource planning, stakeholder engagement, and building a high-performing project delivery team.
Reporting into the General Manager, IT, you will collaborate with stakeholders to uplift the maturity and capability of IT services across Transdev ANZ, ensuring our technology platforms and teams are equipped to deliver high-quality services that meet evolving business needs and drive value across the organisation.
What You’ll Do
- Manage a team of IT project managers.
- Define, implement, and maintain project management frameworks, governance templates, and standards across the IT project portfolio.
- Drive continuous improvement by embedding lessons learned from past and current projects into future planning and execution.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and training opportunities to project managers in alignment with budget and organisational capability.
- Manage project resource planning and capacity to optimise team utilisation and support effective delivery.
- Collaborate closely with the Transdev ANZ business planning team to align project scheduling with strategic business priorities.
- Partner with individual business units and TDA teams to maintain visibility of the project pipeline and forecasted initiatives.
- Ensure strong governance across the entire IT project lifecycle — including delivery oversight, schedule adherence, budget tracking, and risk management — through steering committee participation, document reviews, portfolio meetings, and metric reporting.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to support project alignment and buy-in.
- Lead the education of internal stakeholders in project methodologies, governance, and best practices.
- Take ultimate accountability for the delivery of all IT projects and programs within the portfolio.
- Act as the primary escalation point for project issues raised by IT project managers.
- Where required, manage projects and/or act as an additional project resource.
- Foster a positive team culture and drive continuous improvement in team collaboration, tools, and ways of working.
- Collaborate with the General Manager, IT to establish a business analysis capability within the team, where budgets allow.
What You Bring
- Proven experience leading IT projects or portfolios in a complex environment
- Strong knowledge of project governance, methodologies, and delivery frameworks
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills
- Strategic mindset with the ability to align project delivery to business goals
- Relevant qualifications in IT, Business or Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, etc.)
