Applications are invited from all current permanent, fixed-term and casual staff, for the position of Head of School, Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences.
This offer of employment is full-time fixed term commencing as soon as possible, with an agreed end date of 31 December 2025 but is contingent upon a recruitment process, the agreed end date may be varied accordingly as confirmed in writing by the University.

About the role
This is a senior strategic and operational leadership role within the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences. You will be responsible for leading a thriving and innovative work environment; promoting excellence in teaching and learning; and fostering strong partnerships and pathways for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, especially with business, government and professional bodies.
As Head of School, you will provide strategic and operational academic leadership, build and implement a clear vision for the School's future direction, and lead a positive, engaged and collegial culture. You will enhance staff capability and performance, lead the strategic development of teaching and research activities, and coordinate external engagement to support the School's strategic objectives.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a PhD qualification and extensive experience in academic leadership within the humanities, arts and social sciences. You'll bring a proven track record in strategic planning, people leadership, and fostering a positive workplace culture. Your ability to manage resources effectively, build strong teams, and lead innovation in teaching and research will be essential. You'll demonstrate commitment to diversity and inclusion and have the capacity to lead appropriate adoption of technology in academic contexts.

The Faculty of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and Education (HASSE) offers innovative programs across a range of disciplines and professions, underpinned by the University's commitment to provide excellent teaching, flexible and outstanding learning facilities and a first-rate student learning experience. The Faculty consists of two Schools: the School of Education and the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS).
