Description
We’re looking for a permanent, full time powerhouse Hospitality & Operations Manager to take the reins of our two South West based venues - the established Wayfinder Restaurant & Wine Bar in Dunsborough and our soon-to-open Wayfinder Winery & Farm, which includes a restaurant, cellar door & farm shop in Cowaramup. This isn’t your stock-standard hospitality role. We want someone who can see the big picture, who can bring commercial strategy and creative flair to everything from customer experience to team leadership.
You’ll be the kind of person who can turn venues into destinations and visitors into raving fans - someone who knows how to create something that doesn’t just run, but hums.
Who we are
Our existing venue, Wayfinder Dunsborough, is built on flavour and a sense of place. Just over a year old, we’ve already created something special - a local favourite for relaxed, thoughtful dining and exceptional wines.
Coming soon, our Wayfinder Winery & Farm, will bring a dynamic and ground breaking new destination to the Margaret River region. Featuring a split-level winery, utilising gravity flow and powered purely by solar, alongside a productive market garden & orchard, that will supply both venues’ kitchens year-round. Wayfinder Winery & Farm includes a farm-to-table restaurant, cellar door and farm shop, and will be a hub within the community offering dining, events and experiences.
What we offer
- Competitive package
- Rare opportunity to shape the future of a growing wine and hospitality brand - lead the launch of a new venue and shape it from day one
- Work closely with an engaged, collaborative senior leadership team
About the Role
You’ll oversee the operations of both WA venues; leading teams, managing budgets, and aligning strategy across our front of house, kitchen and cellar door operations. Your initial focus will be making Dunsborough commercially sound, while preparing for the successful launch of our Cowaramup venue in 2026.
The role will be primarily responsible for:
- Project managing the launch of the new Wayfinder Winery & Farm, including the restaurant and cellar door
- Leading, hiring, and developing passionate teams
- Driving operational strategy and performance across both venues
- Owning budgets, reporting, KPIs and commercial growth targets
- Working closely with Sales & Marketing to boost tourism and DTC channels
- Driving venue bookings, activations, events, and revenue growth
- Ensuring alignment with our brand, values, and customer experience goals
- Building relationships across the tourism and hospitality sector
- Collaborating closely with wine club and marketing to amplify reach
About You
What matters most is your ability to lead, strategise, and grow a dynamic hospitality business. You bring energy, strategic thinking, and a bit of edge to everything you do. You’ve worked in venue or hospitality leadership before, but you’re hungry for something more – a chance to make a lasting impact in a business that’s growing fast and doing things differently. Prior experience in the wine industry is beneficial, although not essential.
We are seeking applicants who bring:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing hospitality, venue or tourism operations
- A background in managing teams, budgets and commercial outcomes
- Experience in food, beverage, and/or wine environments
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to build engaged, high-performing teams
- A passion for creating memorable guest experiences to turn one-time visitors into advocates and repeat customers
- Commercial acumen and the ability to turn strategy into real outcomes
- Strong systems, reporting and stakeholder management capability
- Flexibility to travel through the south-west region when needed
- Bonus points for experience in direct to consumer, wine club, or tourism driven venues
This is a rare opportunity to bring your own flair and interest to shape the full experience - not just running the operations, but bringing the entire offering to life. We’re looking for someone who sees the potential in creating something truly unique, building a destination that draws people in through exceptional experiences, sharp commercial thinking, and a clear vision of what tourism can look like when done well.
