ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this executive position offers significant autonomy and influence over HR policies, workforce planning and cultural transformation. While workplace health and safety is part of the portfolio, the primary focus of this role is strengthening HR functions to improve Council’s people strategies and employee experience.

You will lead a team of HR, payroll and WHS professionals, mentoring and developing a new and evolving workforce while driving initiatives that support organisational excellence.

Employment Status: Five (5) year contract

Salary Range: Base $160,000 - $180,000, temporary accommodation

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing strategic and operational leadership in human resources, industrial relations, and workforce planning.
  • Driving cultural change to enhance employee responsibility, engagement, and accountability.
  • Leading workforce planning and development, including succession planning and capability-building initiatives.
  • Optimising HR technology, including TechOne, to streamline processes and improve efficiencies.
