The role:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Coordinator to join the organisation and be a key member of CareFlight’s Human Resources team in the Northern Territory.
Reporting to the Senior HR Manager, the key objective for this role will be to provide generalist human resources to CareFlight’s business units and administrative support to HR processes, procedures and systems. As well as provide excellent client service, candidate care and make a positive contribution to the organisation’s culture.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide full administrative support pertaining to employee records, on-boarding / off-boarding processes, reporting, ASIC and WWC application
- Coordinate individual and bulk package / employment terms changes including updating spreadsheets, preparing instructions for Payroll and drafting letters
- Champion on-boarding, cross-boarding and off-boarding workflows, recruitment & selection workflows, talent pool management and reporting
- Assist with IT and account creation, access and troubleshooting and assisting with the review and improvement of HR policies and procedures
- Develop contracts and other employment related documentation using templates and assisting with the review and improvement of HR policies and procedures
- Assist managers and staff with queries relating to terms and conditions of their employment including Award, Contract and Enterprise Agreement interpretation
- Work with Recruitment Business Partner to assist with end-to-end recruitment processes, drafting contracts, pre-employment checks and onboarding
- Work as the organisation DAMP Supervisor, undertake all associated training, as well as booking the pre-employment drug and alcohol test for new employees & contractors, and existing employees
- Assist the Senior Human Resources Manager and Human Resources Business Partner with workers Compensation claims and respective 3rd party providers
- Take an active role in the achievement of identified projects including HR/payroll systems implementation and development, contract start-ups and annual HR calendar events
- Assist with other duties as directed by the Senior Human Resources Manager or General Manager – Northern Territory.
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications, preferably in Human Resources Management or similar (or currently studying)
- Approximately three years’ generalist Human Resources experience
- Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Excel and Word.
- A fair understanding of the National Employment Standards (NES) and Fair Work Modern Awards
- A good understanding of Human Resources systems, processes and procedures
- Sound judgment and the ability to work well with people at all levels, maintain confidentiality and develop effective working relationship with others
- Excellent communication and organisation skills with a key eye for detail
- An awareness and working knowledge of employment related legislation
- The willingness and ability to handle a busy workload to deadlines and work reasonable additional hours in order to get the job done
- Flexible and able to also work from other CareFlight bases as required
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in an administrative related role providing clerical support.
Desirable
- Previous experience using HR information systems
- Previous exposure to recruitment and selection processes and practices
- Prior experience gained in the not-for-profit, aviation or health sectors.
