Hobsons Bay City Council invites applications from suitably qualified persons to join its Audit and Risk Committee as an Independent Member.
The Audit and Risk Committee is an advisory committee that provides Council with independent assurance and assistance in the areas of financial reporting, audit, internal control effectiveness, risk management and regulatory compliance. This oversight mechanism also serves to provide confidence in the integrity of these practices.
Committee membership comprises two Councillors plus three independent members, one of whom is appointed by Council as the Chair of the Committee.
Independent members of the committee must be members of CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants and/or the Institute of Internal Auditors, having experience in financial management and risk, public sector management and governance experience.
The appointment will be for a three-year term, renewable to a maximum of one additional term.
The Audit and Risk Committee have four scheduled meetings per year.
