POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a practical, people-focused IT Site Technician to join our team. Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, you will support office, manufacturing, and construction teams across Victoria and New South Wales, ensuring our technology runs smoothly.
In this varied role, you’ll provide hands-on and remote IT support, set up and maintain devices, and troubleshoot technical issues. You’ll work across offices, manufacturing plants, and construction sites, with some travel required for inspections and maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Commission and decommission site technology, including workstations, printers, routers, switches, access points, meeting room systems, time and attendance devices, and CCTV systems.
- Develop, publish, and maintain standard site setup protocols—such as runbooks, checklists, and diagrams—for network topology (WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, VLANs, DHCP/DNS), printing, meeting rooms, and security devices.
- Establish and maintain standard bills of materials (BOMs) for typical site sizes, and ensure sufficient stock is available to meet demand.
- Proactively monitor site technology to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Plan and conduct scheduled site visits for stocktakes, audits, and preventive maintenance.
- Provide hands-on support for technical issues encountered at construction sites.
- Document site configurations and maintain accurate records of equipment and setups.
- Administer construction line-of-business applications.
- Collaborate with site teams to ensure seamless integration of IT systems.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE
- Diploma or degree in IT, or equivalent experience, with at least 1 year in IT support, helpdesk, or site technician roles.
- Proficiency in Windows, with knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and endpoint management.
- A basic understanding of networking concepts such as VLANs, NAT, ACLs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN is required; CCNA certification is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., Freshservice, ServiceNow, Jira), along with strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks effectively, and maintain attention to detail.
- Problem-solving mindset and capability to independently manage and deliver small to medium projects from start to finish.
