The Opportunity
We're looking for committed and experienced Junior Sous Chef Pastry (Full Time) to join our team! When you bring your natural talents and passion for food, we welcome you into our family. You will work closely with a team of inspired professionals who encourage and invite your contributions. You hold yourself to a higher culinary standard and have exceptional attention to each preparation. Working with a dedicated team of experts, you will learn something different every day as you work with new seasonal menus and unique presentations.
Key Accountabilities
- Prepare pastries and desserts for outlets
- Review production sheets to plan daily baking tasks
- Safely and appropriately use baking and measuring tools/equipment/appliances to prepare baked foods
- Follow food safety and personal hygiene procedures
- Monitor and report appliance and food temperatures to management
- Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance
- Protect company assets and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
- Communicate clearly and professionally with others
Profile
- Previous experience working as a Junior Sous Chef and Chef trade qualification
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate a team - lead by example
- Build strong relationships with producers and ensures quality sourced produce
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Proactive and the willingness to take initiative and make sound business decisions
- Driven, creative and a genuine passion for Pastry and a strong customer service focus
- Current knowledge of culinary trends and industry best practices - growth mindset
- Commitment, determination and reliability (with the availability to work late nights and on weekends as required)
- Able to demonstrate the capacity to perform the inherent requirements of the role
- Valid Foodsafely Certificate
- Must have full working rights in Australia
